Assists supervising and coordinating activities of workers for a specific division of the DC with the goal of the greatest productivity at the highest level of efficiency.
Essential duties and responsibilities include the following. Other duties may be assigned.
Assists in advising employees on care and preservation of items received, stored, and shipped; methods and use of equipment in handling, storing, maintaining, and shipping stock; and related problems.
Assists in determining work procedures and expedites workflow, taking into consideration all areas of the DC.
Trained and certified on all equipment in the warehouse, including all power equipment, compactor and baler.
Issues written and oral instructions.
Assigns duties and examines work for exactness, neatness, and conformance to policies and procedures. Initiates disciplinary steps with individual workers as needed.
Maintains harmony among workers and resolves grievances.
Protect the company’s assets and financial information by ensuring the accuracy and effectiveness of internal control procedures, and informing appropriate officials of potential fraud risk.
Assists in supervising 3 to 30 employees. Carries out supervisory responsibilities in accordance with the organization's policies and applicable laws. Responsibilities include training employees; planning, assigning, and directing work; rewarding and disciplining employees; addressing complaints and resolving problems.

High school diploma or general education degree (GED) and one to three years related experience and/or training; or equivalent combination of education and experience preferred.
Ability to read and interpret documents such as safety rules, operating and maintenance instructions, and procedure manuals. Ability to write routine reports and correspondence. Ability to speak effectively before groups of customers or employees of organization.
Ability to add, subtract, multiply, and divide in all units of measure, using whole numbers, common fractions, and decimals. Ability to demonstrate knowledge of generally accepted distribution principles.
Ability to apply common sense understanding to carry out instructions furnished in written, oral, or diagram form. Ability to deal with problems involving several concrete variables in standardized situations.
