  • Overview

    Supervises and coordinates activities of workers for a specific division of the DC with the goal of the greatest productivity at the highest level of efficiency.



    Essential duties and responsibilities include the following. Other duties may be assigned.


    Advises employees on care and preservation of items received, stored, and shipped; methods and use of equipment in handling, storing, maintaining, and shipping stock; and related problems.


    Reviews records for accuracy of information and compliance with established procedures, and to determine adequacy of stock levels.


    Maintain a clean work area and common area. Follow safety rules and report hazards to the Assistant Director of Distribution.


    Determines work procedures and expedites workflow, taking into consideration all areas of the DC.


    Trained and certified on all equipment in the warehouse, including all power equipment, compactor and baler.


    Issues written and oral instructions.


    Assigns duties and examines work for exactness, neatness, and conformance to policies and procedures. Initiates disciplinary steps with individual workers as needed.


    Maintains harmony among workers and resolves grievances.


    Protect the company’s assets and financial information by ensuring the accuracy and effectiveness of internal control procedures, and informing appropriate officials of potential fraud risk.


    Supervisory Responsibilities


    Directly supervises 20 to 50 employees, including two supervisors. Carries out supervisory responsibilities in accordance with the organization's policies and applicable laws. Responsibilities include interviewing, hiring, and training employees; planning, assigning, and directing work; appraising performance; rewarding and disciplining employees; addressing complaints and resolving problems.

    Education and/or Experience


    High school diploma or general education degree (GED) and five to seven years related experience and/or training; or equivalent combination of education and experience preferred.
