  • Overview

    Supervises and coordinates activities of workers for a specific division of the DC with the goal of the greatest productivity at the highest level of efficiency.


    Essential duties and responsibilities include the following. Other duties may be assigned.


    Requests return authorization from vendors based on Hibbett Sporting Goods, Inc buying staff plans and direction.


    Communicates with stores, vendors, accounting and buyers with return problems to minimize delays and resolve issues.


    Advises employees on care and preservation of items received, stored, and shipped; methods and use of equipment in handling, storing, maintaining, and shipping stock; and related problems.


    Reviews records for accuracy of information and compliance with established procedures, and to determine adequacy of stock levels.


    Determines work procedures and expedites workflow, taking into consideration all areas of the DC.


    Trained and certified on all equipment in the warehouse, including all power equipment, compactor and baler.


    Issues written and oral instructions.


    Maintain a clean work area and common area. Follow safety rules and report hazards to the Assistant Director of Distribution.


    Assigns duties and examines work for exactness, neatness, and conformance to policies and procedures. Initiates disciplinary steps in conjunction with the Assistant Director with individual workers as needed.


    Protect the company’s assets and financial information by ensuring the accuracy and effectiveness of internal control procedures, and informing appropriate officials of potential fraud risk.


    Supervisory Responsibilites

    Directly supervises 3 to 30 employees. Carries out supervisory responsibilities in accordance with the organization's policies and applicable laws. Responsibilities include interviewing, hiring, and training employees; planning, assigning, and directing work; addressing complaints and resolving problems with facility management.
