Overview

Manages all inbound shipment activities including directing internal transportation/logistics staff and working with carriers, buyers, and vendors to meet required service levels while managing cost. Supervises and coordinates activities of workers for a specific division of the DC to maintain a high level of productivity in an effective manner.

Responsibilities

 

Develops, executes, and maintains E-Commerce processes to maximize performance and efficiency.

 

Manages the interfacing with vendors, carriers, and brokers as necessary to resolve issues associated with scheduling, performance, and compliance.

 

Determines work procedures and expedites work flow, taking into consideration impact to all other areas

Responsible for assisting Director of Logistics in researching availability of various modes and carriers within in   bound lanes

 

Responsible for maintaining reports specific to their area of specialization including productivity standards, accuracy, cost per case/unit and safety.

 

Responsible for working with the DC operations team in establishing appropriate daily and weekly goals to meet monthly expectations

 

Ensures return authorizations are processed from vendors based on Hibbett Sporting Goods, Inc. buying staff plans and direction

 

Assist the Director of Logistics in researching availability of various modes and carriers within inbound lanes.

 

Advises employees on care and preservation of items, stored, shipped: and methods and use of handling, storing, maintaining, and shipping.

 

Cross train in all areas of distribution management.

 

 

Directly supervises 3 to 30 employees. Carries out daily supervisory responsibilities in accordance with the organization's policies and applicable laws. Responsibilities include interviewing, hiring, and training employees; planning, assigning, and directing work; appraising performance; rewarding and disciplining employees; addressing complaints and resolving problems.
